Henk runs The Halfway House Inn between Wadebridge and Padstow as well as Trevisker’s Kitchen and Dining at Trevisker Garden Centre, 2 miles outside Padstow.
Known for cooking steak, Henk's lifelong passion for beef is understandable – he is South African and his grandfather was a cattle farmer and butcher. Expert in the art of butchery and the science of beef ageing, Henk effortlessly transforms cuts of beef into mouthwatering taste sensations.
Over the years Henk's worked across north Cornwall developing a loyal following with local clientele and world-famous chefs alike. He took over the Halfway House in 2016 and opened Trevisker's in 2017.
Henk has developed a reputation for excellent quality, locally sourced food, especially fish from Newlyn. Now his famous steaks and ‘very nice chips’ are a trademark of his menu.
His mission is simple – no fuss or frills, just expertise, craft and quality food that everyone can enjoy.
